New words

We were having dinner with Nana and Poppy last night and Mitch made a couple of break-throughs. He pointed at himself and said "Mit", so he finally knows his own name, and secondly he pointed at Poppy and said, "Pop" which was the first time he had done that. We were all very excited! Poppy was very relieved because he's been able to say "Mummy", "Daddy" and "Nana" for ages but had never said "Poppy" before.

Later on he looked at himself in the reflection in the window and said "Mit" which was very cute. He also found his shadow on the wall and tried to point to it and say "Mit", but it kept on moving (because he was moving). Later on he tried to find his shadow on the same bit of wall, but the sun had gone down so there was no shadow, he was very confused. He pointed at where the shadow had been earlier and turned around and looked at us and said, "Mit?". Very cute!

Merry Christmas!

Well another Christmas has come and gone, Merry Christmas to all.

We had a wonderful if busy day. Mitch is not quite at the age where he understands Christmas and indeed was a bit too much for him, he was overwhelmed at times. He received some wonderful gifts, so thank you all for everyone's generosity towards him.

Meeks, Mitch and I celebrated our second Christmas together as a little family. We got to go to church this year which was great, althought it meant an early morning. We actually had to wake Mitch up this morning to open presents. I dare say it will be the last time we have to do that for many years. After church we went and saw Nana and Poppy and then went off to Uncle Mike and Auntie Mandy's place for pre-lunch and then moved on to Ganny and Grand-Dad's for lunch and presents. Finally at the end of the day we popped in at James and Aly's. A very busy day!

We missed Auntie Krissy and Glen and Uncle Jamie and Phaik all in the UK. We hope you all have/had a great day.

I'll put up some photos when I get around to it, but's it's late now. Time to got to sleep!

Merry Christmas again.

Christmas Dinner

We had (Pre) Christmas dinner with Nana and Poppy this evening. As usual Nana cooked up a delicious turkey, ham and baked veges and we all ate ourselves silly.

Farewell to Krissy

A belated farewell to Krissy as she jetted off to live in the UK with Glen a couple of weeks ago. We will all miss her a lot. Here are some photos of the airport.

Family Lunch

We've had a very busy weekend visiting Horizon's with the Smart's and having family lunches. We had a lunch today today with Meeks' family and took a few cute photos of Mitch with the his Nana and Poppy and Auntie Krissy.

Home Again and many thanks

Well we moved home again on Saturday morning. The bathroom is still not quite finished, but it is good enough. We have a working toilet and I had my first shower this morning (incidentally we did shower elsewhere between Saturday morning and this morning in case you were wondering). There is no shower screen yet so water went everywhere, but that will come in time. Brett (Shazzy's brother) the plumber (free plug for Brett Taylor Plumbing) is installing the vanity today and taps for the bath. After that there is just finishing off.

We have to thank a lot of people for their help. Thanks to Lorraine, Michael and Krissy for putting up with us while we were staying at their house and their help with minding Mitch and Michael for his tools and help jack hammering . A huge thank you to Aly for showing Meeks the ropes in tiling and giving her the confidence to do the job. Thanks to Andrew Gore for his building knowledge, trailer and tools. Thanks to Ann C for minding Mitch Saturday morning - sorry he was a nightmare, he was happier the next day.

Hopefully by the end of the week our house will no longer look like a construction site and be safe to walk around without tripping over cut tiles, saws, power cables, buckets, crates, ladders and the dust ... oh the dust!
