Little boys

This past weekend was stinking hot. We had a swim at Nana's house. I'll post photos of that a bit later. Afterwards, while Meeks and Mitch had a snooze, the boys and I played together.

Little cutie boys :)

Picnic at Bobbin Head

I have fallen well behind putting up pictures on the blog, so there will be a few posts here.

Firstly was a picnic for Nana's Birthday at Bobbin Head. Lucas and Sam enjoyed the sunshine and as you can see are doing much better at sitting up.

Marion was up from Melbourne and she had cuddles with the boys and a picture with the three of them

Mitchy is growing up. He is so cute and loves being active.

In action

After all that exercise it was time for an ice block with Poppy

Then it was back to Nana's for some more cuddles for the boys

Spontaneous afternoon tea

Mike, Mandy, Lilly and Will returned from their time in South Africa last Tuesday. We asked them over for a spontaneous afternoon tea on Wednesday. Mitch and Lilly took up again like they hadn't been apart for 6 months. It was very cute to watch.

Will is old enough to join in their games now, so he kind of followed them around joining in where he could

It was funny watching their different styles of play. Lilly wanted to play "Princesses and Princes" so Mitch turned it into a game of chasings by saying, "Look out then Princess, the Prince is going to catch you" and then they would run after each other with Will trailing along behind them. Very cute. It is going to be mayhem when Lucas and Sam can play too!

All the boys at 6 months

Our friend from church Jenny asked the question whether or not people thought Mitch looked the same as Lucas at 6 months.

Here are a couple photos of him at about the same age (admittedly these were taken with a phone camera):

He was smaller that Sam at the same age and quite a bit smaller than Lucas. In fact he didn't reach Lucas' current weight until he was 9 or 10 months.

Lucas and Sam - 6 months old

Our two beautiful boys reached 6 months old today. We were hoping to go and have a picnic but the weather conspired against us. Instead we had some inside fun.

We weighed the boys today as well. Lucas (on the left above) was 8.9kg and Sam (on the right) was 8.4kg. This means that in 6 months Sam has closed the gap by about 200g since their birth.

Air Con go bang

After complaining just the other day about how bad our air conditioner has been and how many times it has been broken, it broke again last night. We were sitting watching TV and heard a bang noise from outside where the compressor unit is. Though it might have just been something falling out of the palm tree on to the unit which happens from time to time. Anyway, a little later we noticed the inside unit had stopped. I went outside and sure enough the circuit breaker for the air con had gone and when I turned it back on again the outside unit refused to work. Grrrr! Fortunately, still a month to go on the 5 year warranty.

Rusks and funny faces

Meeks, Mitch and Lucas were asleep but Sam and I were up and having a bit of a play. Sam kept on trying to chew on anything that I put within arms reach of him so I decided it was a good time to test out that tooth of his. I got out a rusk and he didn't quite know what to do with it at first, but soon got the message.

Soon big brother Mitch woke up which was very exciting for Sam

Mitch wanted to play model, but wouldn't make a normal smile, so he stuck with silly faces. Here are a couple:

Then Lucas woke up and just so he didn't feel too left out he got a photo too

Little cutie boys. It's amazing to think that on Tuesday Lucas and Sam will be 6 months old.

In other news our dishwasher has died again which is very negative. It did the same thing a while ago where it just stopped heating up for some reason, which means nothing gets cleaned properly. An expensive part had to be replaced which I suspect will have to happen again. D'oh! Don't get a Dishlex. This one has had to have major parts replaced twice now and it's only 3 years old. On the other hand it could be worse. Our LG air conditioner has basically had every part replaced at least once and had more than 10 visits from the repairman. Fortunately it has all been under warranty. The same cannot be said of the dishwasher.

Copycat

Not to be outdone by his bigger brother, Sam has caught up by having a little tooth pop out of his gums this evening.

First tooth!

Just less than a week shy of 6 months Lucas has got his first tooth poking through. Still no teeth for Sam though. It is only tiny at this stage so not really photo possible yet!
