PJs time

Mitch and I were having a bit of a muck around time this morning while he was in his Pjs so I decided to get the camera out and take some pictures (contrary to the opinion of some the camera is not permanently in my hands, but this morning he was being very cute). He's turning into a good little model now that he has gotten over his original shyness. He always wants to play with the umbrella (I use a white, shoot-through umbrella because I like the quality of the light it produces)

although he doesn't make big smiles so you have to be lucky and catch the little looks and grins like this one.

Or this one as he is thinking about something that Dora the Explorer has said.

After watching Dora for a while Mitch moved on to playing with his cars and trains. He loves watching the trains as they go through the tunnels. Sometimes he rolls them into the tunnel and says, "Good night Percy" or "Good night car" and then rolls them out again and says, "Good morning Percy" or "Good morning car" - back and forth, in and out and then moves on to something diferent.

This one was almost perfect, I almost caught his eye looking through the tunnel under the bridge! Oh well!

After playing trains for a while Mitch returned to watching Dora. I love the way his little hands are behind his back in the background of this picture.

Mitch is really into defining things at the moment, by that I mean, he doesn't just say "car", he says "red car" or "big truck" or "big spider" or "race car". It is so cute to watch him learning new things. Unfortunately it is not always possible to understand what he is saying, and he doesn't understand that you don't understand so he just repeats it until he gets frustrated and moves on.

As he's getting older more of his character is coming out. He's a really calm little boy who very rarely gets angry or shouts or tantrums. When other kids take stuff away from him or get in his way when he's doing something he either waits until they have finished or have moved or wanders off and finds something else to do. We keep on waiting for him to turn into a terrible 2 year old and I'm sure he will soon, but at the moment he is just beautiful.

In other news I have been sick this week with a cold. Very unpleasant. I haven't been too incapacitated (fortunately - I even worked from home on Monday and Tuesday), but there has been lots of sneezing and now coughing which has meant I (and by association Meeks) have slept really badly since Sunday night.

Thank goodness for your bolg:) Always great to catch up on your family! Sounds like the flu is bad but everything else is going well.
Cheers from Denver
